BeijingDance / LDTX, formerly known as Beijing LDTX Modern Dance Company, was established in September, 2005. It was founded by Mr. Willy TSAO from Hong Kong and LI Han-zhong from Yunnan province, who take up the posts of the artistic director and deputy artistic director respectively. The founding members, directly coming from the Beijing Modern Dance Company, are devoted artists excelled in both technicality and creativity.
The goal of the Company is to provide the dancers of China with a platform to showcase their highly individualistic bodies, minds and feelings. The dance of the LDTX puts emphasis on the personality, the relevance to the contemporary, and the originality. Each of the dancers in the Company, being a performer and a choreographer, values preciously his very own way of expression, but at the same time, keeps utmost respect to the different approach made by the others. They work seamlessly together to bring modern dance to China.
Although established in less than a year, the LDTX gathers under its wings a wealth of dance works of diverse styles. In the year to come, the Company is planning many new works, and is already being approached for extensive international engagement. Many business enterprises also enlist the Company to help their image building and new product launching. After all, the artists in LDTX are known (even before the establishment of LDTX) for their creative dancing and great enthusiasm.
LDTX also provides extensive modern dance training to the community. The setup of the LDTX training center is highly regarded by the young people who are interested in taking dance lessons seriously or just as a hobby. The dance courses are divided into four sections: technique, choreography, repertoire, and theory, and are taught by the founding members and the artistic directors of the LDTX.
