Since CCDC was founded in 1979, we have worked to surprise, challenge and move our audiences with our original and cutting-edge dance productions. Now, after 40 years, we have only grown more energetic and outgoing – dare we say, younger?
To mark this milestone birthday, we have invited old friends and new to look back at CCDC's development over the past four decades, bringing together new works and classics that came to be because of the hard work of our dancers. This celebration is not looking back, but looking forward to many more years of constant renewal energised by contemporary dance.

The name of the programme combines numbers, alphabets and a punctuation mark, what is the meaning behind this name?
Let’s explore with the dancers together from outdoor to indoor!

Born in Hong Kong, Sunny Pang received his dance training in Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York. He was CCDC's Resident Choreographer from 1983 to 1987.
Between 1984 and 1999, he was active in a wide range of performing arts projects in Hong Kong and Taiwan, performing and choreographing solo works, taking part in multidisciplinary collaborations and providing artistic direction. He is also a Beijing opera enthusiast, performing in the Mei Lanfang style.
Since 2000, Pang has been working as a translator, specialising in texts related to arts and culture. In 2006, he received his PhD in Linguistics, researching the relation between language and cognition.
