SUMMARY:Luck-quacka
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nLuck-quacka\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”20250″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Gatherings involving a huge extended family can easily become a traumatic experience for the little ones. There are fussing relatives\, spoiled children and the unconventional behaviour of the black sheep of the family. There’s also Grand Uncle No. 7 who is asking for everyone’s help to look for missing pieces for his retirement handicraft project. With any luck\, it could be the perfect gift to mark the arrival of his first grandniece.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YgalzjzY5g” title=”LUCK-QUACKA”][vc_empty_space][vc_separator border_width=”5″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \nLuck-quacka  — Uncle Wong\, muttering Daily\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]\n\n Luck-quacka preface — Uncle Wong\, muttering for most of his life[vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]I’m Dominic Wong. \nI was born in Kwong Wah Hospital in the 1970s. \nAs a child\, I studied at Hong Kong Szeto Clan’s Association primary school. \nMy father thought I wasn’t a good student\, so he told me to change to an English primary school. \nHowever\, my grades got even worse because I really didn’t understand what the teachers were talking about. \n  \nI worked as a lifeguard and earned HK$40\,000 over the summer holidays after the HKCEE! \nIn the end\, I spent every last penny partying in Lan Kwai Fong\, hopping from club to club for four months. My mother kept calling me every night. \nEventually\, I got pneumonia. \n  \nMy dream now is to be a composer. \n“tàːi pōu” Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra will soon perform my latest work\, Luck-quacka\, in the Studio Theatre\, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. \nI can’t wait to see you all there![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \nLuck-quacka The first chapter — Uncle Wong Muttering About a dictionary[vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]I’m Dominic Wong. \nIn the preface\, I mentioned that my father moved me to an English primary school. \nThat meant my lessons were all in English. \nAnd although I couldn’t understand a word\, I still studied hard. \n  \nToday\, I’m going to talk about Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker in which the main character talks about a toy soldier… \n“Luck-quac-ka” ? Is it written like this? “Luck”\, “Quac”\, “Ka”\, I know what this story is all about. It’s about a soldier who has a broken arm and who crashes into a wall so it cracks open. That made the soldier laugh\, which sounded like “kaa-kaa-kaa”～ \n  \nYou see\, I have been cultivating my imagination and my dreams of being a composer since childhood.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \nLuck-quacka Chapter Two  — Uncle Wong Muttering About craftsmanship[vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]I’m Dominic Wong. \nI used my extraordinary imagination and skills\, \nTo make this Luck-quacka\, my Nutcracker toy. It was as easy as pie. \nHe looks nothing like me. He’s not too handsome\, and I don’t have two lines of golden buttons on my shirt… \nHis head is so big\, as if it is full of countless stories! \nAlthough he is an old man with white hair and a beard\, \nHe is skilled in martial arts and looks awesome with a sword ~~ \nOh\, I used too much strength and now the arm has broken![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \nLuck-quacka Chapter Three — Uncle Wong Muttering About some random thoughts[vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]I’m Dominic Wong. \nI have recently been working on my Single – Luck-quacka\, \nWhile I was composing\, \nI saw all the notes on the staff become human! \n  \nThere was a Buddha-like uncle with a bald head \nSee this and drink water\, handsome guy \nA magical superwoman \nAnd also some children singing “The Tuen Ma Line has been opened to traffic\, I feel very excited~” \nWhen the music starts\, they dance together~ \nThey remind me of my old friends… \n  \nThat’s all for today. If you want to hear more of my muttering\, remember to C|L|S![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \nLuck-quacka Chapter Four — Uncle Wong Muttering About some random thoughts[vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]I’m Dominic Wong. \nWhile I was rehearsing my single – Luck-quacka. \nSomeone told me about  a hipster who played my single at Tai Po Arts Centre all the time. \nThe main point of this was that there was a rumour that he was more handsome than me so I went to take a look at him to check because I couldn’t believe it. \nI was blown away by his extraordinary temperament and piano melodies! \nKnowing a person through their reputation just doesn’t compare to meeting them in person. So\, I cordially invited him to be my guest in Luck-quacka to give you all a glimpse of him. \nSee you all this weekend at the Studio Theatre in Hong Kong Cultural Centre~[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n[vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \n\nCCDC reserves the right to substitute artists and vary advertised programmes \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \nMedia Coverage\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Stand News \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Art and Pieces \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zolima CityMag \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Stage Moving Forward | RTHK \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Cultural Express | RTHK \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Arts News | RTHK \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n dance journal/hk \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \nChoreography\nYuri Ng\, Noel Pong\,\nRonly Kong and Peggy Lam \nDramaturgy\nMelissa Leung\, Dong Yan \nScenography\nSiu Wai-man\, Cindy Ho Pui-shan\,\nLawmanray\, Siu Tung and Anthony Yeung \nFeatured Performance\nDominic Wong and Ronald Tsang \nPerformance\nCCDC Dance Artists and CCDC Dance Centre Dance Training Scholarship Scheme Students \nCHEUNG King-yu\, Felix KE\, Eric KWONG\, Bobo LAI \nChloe LAM*\, Peggy LAM\, LAM Zoi-hei*\, Kammy LAU# \nShirley LOK\, MAN Hin-wun*\, Jacko NG\, SIU Pak-ting* \nZelia TAN\, Justin TANG*\, Tseky TSE#\, Bruce WONG \nSimpson YAU\, YIU Hei-lam*\, Charlie Bernice YU* \n*CCDC Dance Centre Dance Training Scholarship Scheme Students # Guest Artists[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text] \n20.8.2021 [FRI] 7:30PM\n21.08.2021 [SAT] 2:30PM\,7:30PM\n22.8.2021 [SUN] 2:30PM\nStudio Theatre\, Hong Kong Cultural Centre\n$280[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Programme Enquiries 2329 7803[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row enable_arrows_animation=”no”][vc_column width=”1/4″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Clothes Upcycling Workshop | Recycle and Make a Toy Workshop \n \n Programme Plus \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″]\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n luck-quacka \n \n Dance talent development \n \n \n	\n \n [/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n
