CCDC\u2019s new ‘Laap3 Laap3 Ling3’ Series gives the stage to the Company\u2019s young dancers in this season of heat and movement.<\/p>\n
They are dancers, and choreographers too.<\/p>\n
Crossing from performance into creation, they weave creative thought into the moving body. Like seeds stirring in warm soil, they gather into a bloom still finding its shape.
\nSummer light falls over them, and with every beat, body and imagination open further.<\/p>\n

The roots of millet, the breath of existence, lingering emotions, and a simple longing.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In the Bunun language, there is no direct equivalent for \u201cgoodbye.\u201d The most profound blessing is \u201cMihumisang\u201d\u2014meaning \u201cstill breathing,\u201d or \u201cmay you live well.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This work is a life ritual about \u201cpreparation.\u201d When the most significant farewell is absent from one\u2019s life, we are left to spend the remainder of our days learning how to breathe anew. Through the weight of yearning, the soul\u2019s cry for release, and the search for solace amidst falling petals, this piece seeks that belated sense of peace. This practice is not for forgetting, but so that after a farewell, one can utter \u201cMihumisang\u201d to both the departed and to oneself. It is about transforming longing into a steady breath, preparing to carry on, peacefully and with love, in the next moment.[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div>
REHAS<\/em> is a contemporary dance production that brings to the stage the lived experiences of prisoners inside a cell.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The title REHAS<\/em> is derived from a Filipino word that means railing. Through dance movements inspired by pedestrian movement language, the work explores the reality behind jail railings\u2014how daily life feels in confinement, how systems and relationships form inside, and how human rights issues intersect with interrogation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Inspired by ongoing events in the Philippines, REHAS<\/em> aims to raise awareness, amplify the voices of the unheard, and invite the audience to step into another person\u2019s shoes in pursuit of truth and justice.[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n [\/vc_column_text] We live on the surface, underneath the beauty, can we notice the intense heart beat, the rotten wound and the traumatic memories?[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div> When certain people come into or leave your life, it\u2019s like being slapped in the face\u2014apart from a faint ache and a slight warmth on your cheek, that\u2019s all there is to it.[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div> Social interaction is inevitable in life, but if you are an “Introvert person”, have you ever considered choosing to avoid it?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our journey of growth is a continuous cycle of self-dialogue: from seeing a phenomenon to questioning it, from conflict to compromise, and back again. In this uninhabited corner of the heart, let us drop all pretenses and reconnect with the true “me”.[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div> An independent life resides within a vessel of transparent glass, drifting in a dream-like state. It serves as a sanctuary\u2014a buffer against the deluge of information, the unraveling of senses, and the turmoil of unmanageable emotions. One rests safely inside, until the line blurs: is this a tender cocoon, or a restrictive shackle?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the intimacy of the duet, ‘seeing’ and ‘being seen’ are never direct encounters. Instead, they are mirror images, refracted through the unique filters of our own perception. We draw close, yet true contact remains elusive\u2014leaving us only to gaze, with a cold, rational, and restrained detachment.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What is ‘reality’? What is ‘truth’? And what reality could be more profound than the one unfolding here, in this very moment?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Perhaps the answer remains forever undefined. Yet, this fleeting state and the energy coursing between us are worthy of being captured in movement.[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div> Gifts and curses of origin: through us, from past to future. Is this bloodline an endless cycle, or the journey of becoming myself?[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div> We are drawn into ceaseless systems of order, information, and response, as if moving closer to the world could make our existence more certain. Yet in this constant approach, the body begins to grow numb. What once felt real no longer arrives directly; it is delayed, diluted, replaced, and left suspended somewhere out of reach. We are understood and misunderstood, seen and obscured, longing for connection while gradually losing our own boundaries within it. Perhaps the most unsettling thing is not loneliness, but the way we have learned to depend on external voices to prove that we are still alive.
