There used to be a lot of shops on the street where I live.<\/p>\n

I have witnessed them gone one by one and turned into bars and cafes for hipsters.<\/p>\n

The only shop that remains the same is the one at the end of the street.<\/p>\n

Every time when I pass by,<\/p>\n

Beneath its hunter green signboard,<\/p>\n

Inside the shop sits a tailor in his white tank top.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Making clothes has been his life for the past decades,<\/p>\n

Or even so, his life mission.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He is no ordinary tailor.<\/p>\n

He only sews with old clothes and textiles,<\/p>\n

Never the new ones.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He has got a mentee in the recent years.<\/p>\n

His mentee couldn\u2019t understand why the old Master<\/p>\n

While he could actually use brand new materials,<\/p>\n

Would rather visit households by households to collect their unwanted clothes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The mentee is frustrated and couldn\u2019t comprehend his mentor\u2019s purpose,<\/p>\n

For the fact that there are many limitations in used old fabrics.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The tailor then gave him a potted plant,<\/p>\n

And told him to take good care of it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He said, \u201cPlants can\u2019t speak,<\/p>\n

but they can communicate through their visible traces.<\/p>\n

Clothes also couldn\u2019t tell their stories, but through their conditions one would be able to learn about how they were treated by their past owners\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also said, \u201cThe process of taking care of and transforming old clothes is fascinating\u201d.<\/p>\n

His mentee started learning how to take care of the plant.<\/p>\n

And, also began to realize, by taking care and transforming used textiles and clothes,<\/p>\n
