He received the Asian Cultural Council Scholarship to study in the US. In 2002, he was selected by the \u201cRolex Mentor and Prote\u0301ge\u0301 Arts Initiative\u201d to study choreography under William Forsythe in Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During his time in Germany, he joined the Ballet Frankfurt and The Forsythe Company as Assistant Choreographer and Dancer, respectively. He returned to China in 2006 and has since choreographed for City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC), BeijingDance\/LDTX and Guangdong Modern Dance Company. He has also been commissioned by renowned dance companies around the world, including Ballet Frankfurt in Germany, Spellbound Contemporary Ballet in Italy, Carte Blanche in Norway and G\u00f6teborgsOperans Danskompani in Sweden. He was appointed as the Resident Choreographer for CCDC from 2015 to 2024, and has been its Artistic Director since the appointment in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2023, he was awarded the Honorary Fellowship by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He has received multiple awards at the Hong Kong Dance Awards for \u201cOutstanding Choreography\u201d. He studied modern dance in The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He joined City Contemporary Dance Company after his graduation in 1996 and was promoted as Associate Artistic Director in 2016. He received 2001 and 2013 Hong Kong Dance Awards \u201cOutstanding Performance by a Male Dancer\u201d for his performance in<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Plaza X<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comedy of K <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">respectively. He is one of the founding members of the Zero Zero Ensemble. Wong\u2019s choreographic work <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Men\u2019s Chop Suey<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of A Sudden<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 2003) was invited to rerun in the 1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Guangdong Modern Dance Festival. She received the Gold Award in the Modern Dance Duet Class at the Paris International Dance Competition in 1990 and became a founding member of Guangdong Modern Dance Company in 1992, where she performed extensively in major international arts festivals in Hong Kong, France, India, Singapore, the US, etc. She joined City Contemporary Dance Company in 1996, received the 2003 Hong Kong Dance Award for her outstanding performance in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Tragedy of Mr O<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and was listed in the \u201cHong Kong Dance Hall of Fame\u201d. Qiao received \u201cOutstanding Performance by a Female Dancer\u201d at the Hong Kong Dance Awards in 2011 for her performance in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tales of Two Cities \u2013 Hong Kong, Shanghai, Eileen Chang<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and received a nomination for the same prize at the Hong Kong Dance Awards in 2016 for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soledad<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Qiao was awarded \u201cArtist of the Year(Dance)\u201d at the 14<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Hong Kong Arts Development Awards in 2020 and \u201cSecretary for Home Affairs Commendation Scheme (Arts and Culture)\u201d in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Almost 55<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received great acclaim after its premiere. He received the Asian Cultural Council Scholarship to study in the US.
