The festival runs from 1 September to 2 October 2022 at Broadway Cinematheque and Eaton HK.\u00a0 Tickets are now available at Broadway Cinematheque Box Office, Broadway Circuit Online and Poptickert.hk.<\/p>\n<p>This year, \u2018Jumping Frames 2022 \u2013 Hong Kong International Movement-image Festival\u2019 have changed its name from \u201cdance video\u201d to \u201cmovement-image\u201d, bringing dance and films over 60 local and international movement-image.\u00a0 \u201cAny stimuli that moves your body and soul, is dance. Thus, in the same way, not all moving images are movement-images. Any moving images that affect the viewers and when their bodies react to the visual, are considered movement-image, body or non-body.\u201d Said by Yuri Ng, Artistic Director of CCDC. Two socially relevant documentaries, <em>Before We Go<\/em> by Jorge Le\u00f3n depicting three terminal patients participating in a performance project before death and <em>Dance of Time<\/em>, covering stories of Joseon laborers who traveled from Korea to Cuba, and their descendants after a decade. <\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Artist Focus\u2019<\/strong> series is a special program featuring 4 directors hovering between filmmaker\/ dancer\/ choreographer\/ theatre practitioner\/ visual artist or all of the above.\u00a0 They are Song Joowon (South Korea), Dani\u00e8le Wilmouth (USA), Cheuk Cheung (Hong Kong) and Nao Yoshigai (Japan).\u00a0 A very important edition to the festival this year is<strong> \u2018Body Archive &#8211; Trajectory Re-imagined between Hong Kong and Taiwan\u2019.<\/strong> The program relates to the historical narrative of body between Taiwan and Hong Kong through the dialogue between Taiwanese curator Joe Huang and Hong Kong curator Emilie Choi Sin-yi. The selected films since 1990s illuminates the capacity of bodies as the existential agency to reinvent our memories and relationships to our cityscapes and chronicles.\u00a0 Seeking original and cutting-edge works through an international open call, this year, 24 short films are shortlisted from nearly 500 entries around the world for the Open and Hong Kong students category.\u00a0 Audience for the <strong>Competition Programmes<\/strong> will be eligible to vote for the \u2018Jumping Frames Audience Award\u2019, while other awards and prizes selected by the final juries\u2019 panel will also be announced on the last day of the festival screenings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expanded Programme &#8211; Unfolding the unlimited possibilities of \u2018Body Non Body\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Apart from the screenings, the festival will expand its programmes to exhibition, performance and industry forums to create an all-rounded movement-image experience. <strong><u>Expanded space,<em> Body Dis-ordered<\/em><\/u> <\/strong>co-curated with Joseph Chen of Eaton HK is an exhibition that explores the dysfunction of both\u00a0human body and the mechanical\/ algorithmic system, and how they collide with each other in the language of video, installation and performance.\u00a0 Participating artists include, Ray LC (Hong Kong), Joey Holder (UK), Jun Bokyung (South Korea), Jun Hyejoo (South Korea), Tsui Hou-lam (Hong Kong), Tung Wing-hong (Hong Kong) and Omsk Social Club (Germany).\u00a0 <u>The exhibition runs from 1 September to 2 October at Tomorrow Maybe, 4\/F, Eaton HK, free admission.<\/u><\/p>\n<p>CCDC undertakes to blaze the path of contemporary dance scene with extraordinary performances representing contemporary Hong Kong culture.\u00a0 <strong><em><u>Counter of Occurrences<\/u><\/em> <\/strong><u>is a new attempt of \u2018Jumping Frames 2022\u2019 expanding beyond film festival usual practice.\u00a0 <\/u>Living artwork created through incidental performance by Florence Lam and Ka-chun Hui, their bodies are the vessels that draws audience closer to the screen or become the moving image themselves.\u00a0 Their performances may happen anywhere, anytime and in any form during the festival.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2004, \u2018Jumping Frames\u2019 is committed to promoting the intersections between performance making and moving image, cine-choreographic interventions and the body.\u00a0 \u201cSo they say, \u2018Be proud of one\u2019s name and stand by it.\u2019 This saying may not be true to contemporary art. We change our name this year to express our views of the moment. This year, \u2018Jumping Frames 2022 \u2013 Hong Kong International Movement-image Festival\u2019 have changed its name from \u201cdance video\u201d to \u201cmovement-image\u201d, bringing dance and films over 60 local and international movement-image.\u00a0 \u201cAny stimuli that moves your body and soul, is dance. Thus, in the same way, not all moving images are movement-images. Any moving images that affect the viewers and when their bodies react to the visual, are considered movement-image, body or non-body.\u201d Said by Yuri Ng, Artistic Director of CCDC.
