Jumping Frames – Hong Kong International Movement-image Festival

After two decades of hard work locally, ‘Jumping Frames’ have transcended the established framework and emerged with diversified styles. The artistic concepts, planning direction, and presentation format have transformed over the years. With its consistent foresight, the Festival has explored artistic practice and visions in the forms of dance and video.

As a dance video festival born and bred in Hong Kong, ‘Jumping Frames’ is taking a big stride towards the world this year, spreading various home-grown species to different areas and enabling the grains of local creation to flourish and expand their reach.

Ringing in the ardent autumn, ‘Jumping Frames’ will make its first stop in Amsterdam.

Elysa WENDI

Elysa Wendi is an artist – curator based in Hong Kong.
Preoccupied with the abstraction of memory from place, time and biographical traces, Wendi explores these themes in her live and filmic works. After dancing professionally for a decade from 1998 – 2008, she began experimenting on the notion of choreography through film, performances and curatorial projects. In 2015, Elysa co- founded Cinemovement, a platform to host interdisciplinary film creations together with film producer Jeremy Chua.
