Executive Director

Responsibilities

As a key member of the top leadership, alongside the Artistic Director, the Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future. Reporting to the Board of Directors, he or she is responsible for the overall performance of the Company, including but not limited to:

  • To collaborate closely with the Artistic Director to ensure the effective execution of the Company’s vision and mission
  • To develop and implement business and development strategies, plans and goals and provide leadership and guidance to the team to drive organizational success
  • To develop and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders, local, regional and overseas
  • To oversee the day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the overall performance of the company
  • To oversee the company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • To ensure fulfilment with the agreements with the Government and other funding bodies

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be an inspiring leader and team player with vision and passion in strengthening CCDC’s position as a prominent international cultural institution. He or she should possess the following:

  • University qualifications with 12-15 years relevant experience in arts administration, of which 6-10 years in senior positions
  • A strong knowledge and network in the performing arts sector
  • Good business sense, organizational, management and negotiation skills, and the ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English, and proficiency in Putonghua
  • Proven leadership ability with excellent people management skills
  • Exceptional skills in stakeholder management and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experienced in fundraising with a successful track record
  • Have substantial experience in dealing with government bureaux and departments

You will be required to

  • Assist in planning and implementing marketing for CCDC’s dance productions and arts programmes, including international collaborations
  • Support marketing campaigns across digital, advertising, and PR channels for both local and international projects
  • Build industry networks and identify collaboration opportunities with overseas partners to support CCDC’s artistic development
  • Develop and maintain international PR networks and media contacts in Asia-Pacific and European markets to enhance CCDC’s exposure and visibility
  • Assist with planning and coordination of international cultural exchanges and cross-border arts collaborations
  • Provide on-site support for performances, networking events, media activities, and international project coordination
  • Handle other duties as assigned to support CCDC’s productions and artistic initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant disciplines
  • Organised, attentive to details and capable of multitasking
  • Good interpersonal skills to be a good team player
  • Work independently, self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and can-do spirit
  • Keen interest in art and culture, especially for performing arts and dance
  • Experience in public relations is a plus
  • 4 years working experience or more, preferrable in the industry of performing arts. Less experience would be considered as Senior Marketing and Development Coordinator
  • Excellent in both written and spoken Chinese and English. Putonghua is a plus
  • High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, graphic and video editing is a plus
  • Willing to work at irregular hours, including weekends, if needed

City Contemporary Dance Company – Dancer Audition

City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) is looking for a number of full-time Dancers (one-year contract). Opportunities for national and international stage performances and in-job training will be provided. CCDC is Hong Kong’s first professional contemporary dance company and one of the major performing arts organisations financially supported by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Details for the audition are as below:

Requirements

  • All local and international candidates are welcome.
  • Candidates with relevant academic qualifications in local or overseas institutions.
  • High level of dance skills and experience in stage performances.
  • Willing to travel internationally.
  • Creative mind with choreographic interest is a plus.
