Positions at Dance Company

City Contemporary Dance Company is the first professional contemporary dance company in Hong Kong. We aim to present the vigour and creativity of Hong Kong’s multifaceted culture. The Company is now looking for suitable candidates for the following positions:

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement strategic and business plans, maintain an open dialogue with stakeholders, and to drive organizational success;
  • To oversee the overall budget of the Company;
  • To oversee the company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and standards;
  • To handle all hired engagements and outbound tours of the Company;
  • To oversee the smooth running of the Programme and Marketing Department, the Administration Department and the Technical Department;
  • To prepare reports to the government and major sponsors, as well as papers and minutes for Board meetings;
  • To represent the Company in networking and negotiations with funding bodies, local and overseas partners, sponsors;
  • To act as spokesperson as requested for the Company’s management via speaking engagements, public and social appearances, and at fundraising events and solicitations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should be an inspiring leader and team player with vision and passion in strengthening CCDC’s position as a prominent international cultural institution. He or she should possess the following:

  • University qualifications with 12-15 years relevant experience in arts management, of which 6-10 years in senior positions;
  • A strong knowledge in performing arts sector and fundraising;
  • Good business senses, organizational, management and negotiation skills, and the ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment;
  • The readiness to work in irregular working hours and frequent outbound travels are required;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English, and proficiency in Mandarin.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist to plan under company’s direction for marketing and promotion strategy;
  • Manage the team to carry out duties including digital marketing, advertising, PR, CRM and business development;
  • Proceed regular review and analysis for goal achievements;
  • Connect with the industry to maintain and explore network for collaboration opportunities;
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant disciplines;
  • Organised, attentive to details and capable of multitasking;
  • Good interpersonal skills to be a good team player;
  • Work independently, self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and can-do spirit;
  • Keen interest in art and culture, especially for performing arts and dance;
  • Experience in public relations is a plus;
  • 4 years working experience or more, preferrable in the industry of performing arts. Less experience would be considered as Senior Marketing and Development Coordinator;
  • Excellent in both written and spoken Chinese and English. Putonghua is a plus;
  • High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, graphic and video editing is a plus;
  • Willing to work at irregular hours, including weekends, if needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in programme coordination and logistics of the Company’s productions, including ticketing, customer services, archival records and related administration works;
  • Liaise with different departments regarding venue needs and bookings;
  • Organise previews, talks and other programme plus events and audience building activities;
  • Handle enquiries and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Hong Kong permanent resident aged 18 or above
  • Graduate of the tertiary institute or above within the recent 3 years with Performing arts, arts, cultural or cultural management studies, or related disciplines;
  • Demonstrate a strong passion for arts and culture, particularly in the field of Dance;
  • Be a quick thinker, confident and well-organised, flexible, and have the ability to multitask and do what it takes to get the job done;
  • Good copywriting and editing skills in both Chinese and English; fluent in English and Putonghua;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; willing to work at irregular hours;
  • Hands-on experience with websites and tools of the trade like Photoshop, Illustrator and video editing software is a distinct advantage;

Positions at Dance Centre

CCDC Dance Centre offers a wide range of dance courses, outreach and partnership schemes to promote arts and support artists. The Centre is now looking for suitable candidates for the following positions:

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and design Dance Course/ Children Dance Programme;
  • Execute teaching duties and maintain effective class management;
  • Co-ordinate with teachers, students and staff;
  • Take attendance, assess students, report duties, etc.;
  • Review and evaluate teaching process.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Certificate or above, major in Dance;
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (fresh graduates with higher qualifications would also be considered);
  • Willing to work under pressure, mature and self-motivated;
  • Dedicated to dance education;
  • Effective communication skills and willing to cooperate with others.

  • Execute teaching duties, implement and maintain effective class management;
  • Co-ordinate with teachers, students and staff;
  • Take attendance, assess students, report duties, etc.;
  • Review and evaluate teaching process;
  • Choreograph for schools, organise students and attend rehearsals, run-through sessions and meeting with designers for specific performance;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Flexible in working at irregular hours (including daytime, evenings, and/or weekends) at various campus locations. 

Requirements:

  • Advanced Certificate or above, major in Dance
    (major in modern dance will be more preferable);
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (fresh graduates with higher qualifications would also be considered);
  • Interested and has relevant experiences in choreography;
  • Willing to work under pressure, mature and self-motivated;
  • Dedicated to dance education;
  • Effective communication skills and willing to cooperate with others.

Vacancy may occur throughout the year; the position(s) will remain open until filled; applicants may also be hired for future semesters.
