Positions at Dance Company

City Contemporary Dance Company is the first professional contemporary dance company in Hong Kong. We aim to present the vigour and creativity of Hong Kong’s multifaceted culture. The Company is now looking for suitable candidates for the following positions:

Requirements:

  • Relevant academic qualification;
  • At least three years of solid relevant theatre technical and stage management experience;
  • Fluent in English, Chinese and Putonghua.

Responsibility:

  • Control the budget and time with for manufacturing the costume under the instruction of Technical Director/ Production Manager.
  • Coordinate with Costume/ Image Designer and choreographer on costume/ image details and manufacturing for performance.
  • Assist Costume/ Image Designer on materials and make up products sourcing under the instruction of the designer.
  • Perform the drawing and cutting procedures according to the costume design.
  • Act as the bridge between choreographer and Costume/ Image Designer.
  • Manage the costume during performance.
  • Coordinate with client on costume details, drawing out the concept in the hire engagement events under the instruction of Technical Director.
  • Initiate, negotiate and manage costume design and production for commercial engagement under the instruction of Technical Director.
  • Control and monitor the daily operation of the wardrobe department.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Relevant academic qualification OR
  • At least three years of solid relevant theatre costume making and management experience;
  • Fluent in English, Chinese and Putonghua.

Positions at Dance Centre

CCDC Dance Centre offers a wide range of dance courses, outreach and partnership schemes to promote arts and support artists. The Centre is now looking for suitable candidates for the following positions:

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and design Dance Course/ Children Dance Programme;
  • Execute teaching duties and maintain effective class management;
  • Co-ordinate with teachers, students and staff;
  • Take attendance, assess students, report duties, etc.;
  • Review and evaluate teaching process.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Certificate or above, major in Dance;
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (fresh graduates with higher qualifications would also be considered);
  • Willing to work under pressure, mature and self-motivated;
  • Dedicated to dance education;
  • Effective communication skills and willing to cooperate with others.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan & design dance courses (Outreach Projects)
  • Execute teaching duties, implement and maintain effective class management;
  • Co-ordinate with teachers, students and staff;
  • Take attendance, assess students, report duties, etc.;
  • Review and evaluate teaching process;
  • Choreograph for schools, organise students and attend rehearsals, run-through sessions and meeting with designers for specific performance;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Flexible in working at irregular hours (including daytime, evenings, and/or weekends) at various campus locations. 

Requirements:

  • Advanced Certificate or above, major in Dance
    (major in modern dance will be more preferable);
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (fresh graduates with higher qualifications would also be considered);
  • Interested and has relevant experiences in choreography;
  • Willing to work under pressure, mature and self-motivated;
  • Dedicated to dance education;
  • Effective communication skills and willing to cooperate with others.

Vacancy may occur throughout the year; the position(s) will remain open until filled; applicants may also be hired for future semesters.
