Dancing in the Sun 2019: “Improving through Dancing: Embracing Empathy”

(Project offered by with City Contemporary Dance Company in support of the 2018/19 SPAPS)

“Improving through Dancing: Embracing Empathy” Modern Dance In Practice Project provides a systematic course on arts development for participating schools. By employing an all-rounded approach and in proper sequences, students can acquire the basic dance techniques from the workshop in school and their course-end finale performance on a professional stage. They can also experience the satisfaction brought by dances when they use their bodies and limbs to express their feelings. In this way, their cognitive sense and self-confidence can be enhanced.

“Dancing in the Sun 2019” is the finale performance of the Modern Dance In Practice Project. After 10 months training, over 200 students from 8 secondary schools and 4 primary schools will showcase their effort on the stage. Twelve experienced instructors focus on topics raised by students and combine their creative movements into 16 brand new dance pieces.
