Dance Company Positions

City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) is a well-established, non-profit making performing arts
company and one of Hong Kong’s leading cultural institutions.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and fundraising strategies in the context of CCDC’s mission and vision  and its commitment to Hong Kong dance development. He/she acts as the leader of the marketing team for publicity and business development of the Company, as well as project in charge of special projects.

  • University graduate with minimum 8 years of solid relevant experience in marketing, public relations, brand building and fundraising;
  • Be exceptionally creative and truly driven to create a great buzz for our dynamic organization;
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills in both Chinese and English;
  • Excellent command in English, Cantonese and Putonghua;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Willing to work overseas and irregular hours;
  • Passionate in performing arts and strong network in performing arts industry is an advantage.
  • Candidate with more experienced will be considered as Senior Marketing Manager

You will be required to

  • Support the team to implement business development, audience building and school networking event, and be responsible for special events, e.g. fundraising, PR activities.
  • Support the team to execute marketing campaigns of the Company and the festival.
  • Handle copywriting, production, proofreading and editing of marketing collaterals.
  • Assist in press interviews, press conferences, previews, talks and other marketing and audience building activities.
  • Handle advertising, media buying and publicity traffic, video production, e-newsletter and social media management.
  • Maintain clear donation records, handle fundraising events, and cultivate relationship with donors.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in relevant disciplines, fresh graduate welcome.
  • Related working experience, knowledge in digital marketing platforms, graphic design and video editing is a plus.
  • Excellent in both written and spoken Chinese and English, including good copywriting and editing skills. Putonghua is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Windows, MS Office and Chinese & English word processing.
  • Capable to work independently, handle multitasking in a tight deadline, and willing to work in irregular hours
  • Keen interest in dance/ arts/ culture.

Responsibilities: 

Perform general accounting duties, administration, and the ordinary routine of office work including facility management and daily supplies etc. Fieldwork is required if necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • HKDSE or above or Diploma in Accounting/LCCI Level II, or equivalent;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the accounting and administration field;
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills, including productivity software  and accounting software, Chinese and English word processing (Proficiency in Dynamic Accounting System is an advantage)
  • Ability to work on own initiative, conscientious, positive, loyal, reliable, diligent, courteous, and responsible;
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm in art administration;
  • Basic command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in spoken English and Chinese will be an advantage

Academic qualification with/or AT LEAST five years of solid relevant theatre costume making and management experience. Fluent in English, Chinese and Putonghua 

Report directly to the Wardrobe Manager, and is responsible for the followings:

  1. To assist the Wardrobe Manager to control the budget and time for manufacturing the costume under the instruction of Wardrobe Manager/ Production Manager.
  2. To assist the Wardrobe Manager to co-ordinate with choreographer on costume/ image details for performance
  3. To assist costume/ image designer on materials and make up products sourcing under the instruction of Wardrobe Manager
  4. To perform the drawing and cutting procedures according to the costume design
  5. To act as the bridge between choreographer and costume/ image designer
  6. To act as the bridge between choreographer and dancers on costume/ image details
  7. To co-ordinate with client on costume details, drawing out the concept in the hire engagement events under the instruction of Wardrobe Manager
  8. To assist the Wardrobe Manager to provide costume/image design to the client under the instruction of Wardrobe Manager in the hire engagement events
  9. To initiate, negotiate and manage costume design and production for commercial engagement under the instruction of Wardrobe Manager
  10. To assist the Wardrobe Manager to control and monitor the daily operation of    the wardrobe department
  11. 11. To supervise a group of wardrobe workers.
  12. 1 Any other business assigned by company.

Dance Centre Positions

The CCDC Dance Centre offers a wide range of professional dance courses and partnership programs. We are now seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to join its  team. Assignments may be at various campus locations; days, evenings, and/or weekends. We’re seeking candidates for the following positions:

Responsibilities :
Liaise with various teaching artists, artists and schools to operate the outreach projects;
Organise educational programmes and performances in schools and communities;
Develop school network and promote dance curriculum in schools
Manage social media platforms
Carry out other duties as assigned Qualifications / Requirements
University graduate or above
1 year working experience, fresh graduates are welcome
Excellent in both written and spoken Chinese and English (Putonghua speaking is a plus)
Proficient in MS Windows, MS Office and Chinese & English word processing; knowledge in Web site maintenance, graphic design and video editing is a plus
Articulate; devoted to Arts field
Capable to work independently and willing to work irregular hours Capable to work independently, handle multitasking in a tight deadline, and willing to work in irregular hours

  • choreograph for schools, organize students and attend rehearsals, run through sessions and meet with designers for specific performance;
  • perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Advanced Certificate or above in Dance
    (with the major of modern dance will be more preferable)
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience
    (fresh graduates with higher qualifications would also be considered)
  • Interested and experienced in choreography
  • Willing to work under pressure, mature & self-motivated
  • Dedicated in dance education
  • Effective communication skills and willing to cooperate with others
