City Contemporary Dance Company Limited (CCDC) is Hong Kong’s first full-time professional company pioneering in contemporary dance. Over the past 41 years, CCDC has inspired and elated audiences in Hong Kong and around the world with its superb modern dance performances. The Board of CCDC is seeking candidates interested in a rewarding career in the arts for the following position:

Managing Director

Together with the Artistic Director and the Director of CCDC Dance Centre, the Managing Director is one of the three top executives. Reporting to the Board of Directors, he or she will be responsible for business operations, funder and stakeholder engagements, strategic development, responsible for the overall performance of the Company, according to its vision and mission. Responsibilities:

  •   To develop and implement strategic and business plans, maintain an open dialogue with stakeholders, and to drive organizational success.
  •   To oversee the overall budget;
  •   To oversee the company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and standards;
  •   To handle all hired engagements and outbound tours;
  •   To oversee the smooth running of the Programme and Marketing Department, the Administration Department and the Technical Department;
  •   To prepare reports to the Government and major sponsors, as well as papers and minutes for Board meetings;
  •   To represent CCDC in networking and negotiations with funding bodies, local and overseas partners and sponsors;
  •   To act as spokesperson at speaking engagements, public and social appearances, and at fundraising events and solicitations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should be an inspiring leader and team player with vision and passion in strengthening CCDC’s position as a prominent international cultural institution. He or she should possess the following:

  •   University qualifications with 12-15 years relevant experience in arts management, of which 6-10 years in senior positions;
  •   A strong knowledge in performing arts sector and fundraising;
  •   Good business sense, organizational, management and negotiation skills, and the ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment;
  •   The readiness to work irregular working hours and frequent outbound travel is required;
  •   Excellent oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English, and proficiency in Mandarin.

City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) is a well-established, non-profit making performing arts company and one of Hong Kong’s leading cultural institutions. We are seeking candidates interested in a rewarding career in the arts for the following position:

Community Arts Mediator(12-month Contract)Programme and Marketing Department

You will be required to

  • Assisting in programme co-ordination and logistics
  • To initiate and implement audience building and school networking events
  • To be responsible for
    • copywriting, production, proofreading and editing of marketing collaterals
    • organising press interviews, press conferences, previews, talks and other programme activities
  • Transcribing, proofreading and editing of video subtitles and promotional materials
  • Taking minutes for meetings and to follow up on actions involving departmental communications
  • Booking venues
  • Internal resources management
  • To carry out other duties as reasonably assigned

 

Requirements:

  • A Hong Kong resident; legally permissible to work in Hong Kong at the time of application;
  • University graduate with Performing arts, arts, cultural or cultural management studies, or related disciplines in 2019 or 2020
  • Not employed full-time at the time of application; or with no more than three months of full-time employment on a consecutive (not accumulative) basis, including probation period since graduation.
  • Be a quick thinker, confident and well-organised, flexible, and have the ability to multitask
  • Good copywriting and editing skills in both Chinese and English; fluent in English and Putonghua;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; willing to work in irregular hours;
  • Hands on experience with websites, social media and tools of the trade like Photoshop, Illustrator and Final Cut Pro is distinct advantage.

Dance Centre Positions

The CCDC Dance Centre offers a wide range of professional dance courses and partnership programs. We are now seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to join its  team. Assignments may be at various campus locations; days, evenings, and/or weekends. We’re seeking candidates for the following positions:

Dance Course / Children Dance Programme
  • plan & design dance courses;
  • executing teaching duties;
  • e.g. implement and maintain effective class management; co-ordinate with teachers, students and staff; take attendance, assess students, report duties monthly etc;
  • review and evaluation of the teaching process;

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Advanced Certificate or above in Dance
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience(fresh graduates with higher qualifications would also be considered)
  • Willing to work under pressure, mature & self-motivated
  • Dedicated in dance education
  • Effective communication skills and willing to cooperate with others.

The responsibilities of the instructor are to:

  • plan & design dance courses
  • execute teaching duties:
    e.g. implement and maintain effective class management; co-ordinate with teachers, students and staff; take attendance, assess students, report duties monthly etc;
  • review and evaluate the teaching process;
  • choreograph for schools, organize students and attend rehearsals, run through sessions and meet with designers for specific performance;
  • perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Advanced Certificate or above in Dance
    (with the major of modern dance will be more preferable)
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience
    (fresh graduates with higher qualifications would also be considered)
  • Interested and experienced in choreography
  • Willing to work under pressure, mature & self-motivated
  • Dedicated in dance education
  • Effective communication skills and willing to cooperate with others
