Girls Hip Hop Introductory

Hip Hop was evolved from different kinds of dance. Body coordination and sense of rhythm are the focus of the lessons. A technique based on quickly contracting and relaxing the muscles following the beat of music. Girl’s Hip Hop is a combination of Hip Hop foundation and girly style dance. Soft and feminine move will be involved in this class, suitable for girl.

Hip Hop Jazz

Hip Hop was evolved from different kinds of dance. Body coordination and sense of rhythm are the focus of the lessons; e.g. Popping, a technique based on quickly contracting and relaxing the muscles following the beat of music. This causes a jerk in the dancer’s body, like the movement of robot; House, emphasises on flexible foot oriented steps through footwork training.

Jazz Funk

Urban Dance is a combination of different dance styles, its elements Funk, Street, Hip Hop and other forms of dance styles formed. Urban Dance has enough flexibility to enable movement and dance styles to switch between, thereby creating a unique style.

K Pop 

Through light-hearted and upbeat choreography paired with Korean pop music, students will learn more about K-Pop. We will start from the fundamental basics of Hip Hop and Jazz and gradually add on with more difficult dance moves with an aim to strengthening body coordination and fundamental technique – So that you, being a K-pop lover, will become even MORE addicted!

Instructors

Natalie Ko graduate from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2022, majoring in Contemporary Dance. She has been the recipient of numerous scholarships. She was selected to participate in a collaborative initiative with Akram Khan Company, taking a production residency and starring in Jungle Book Reimagined’s world premiere in Leicester, United Kingdom in 2022. She has collaborated with Mickael Marso Riviere, Jorge Jauregui Allue, and explored MoCap with Alexander Whitley recently. She joined CCDC in 2022 as a dance artist trainee.

Hong Kong-based dancer, Hon, graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Contemporary Dance and minoring in Choreography. She received Grantham Scholarship Funds in 2018/19 and 2019/20. She has performed in Imagination Boom 4 by E-Side Dance Company (2018), experimental work Insight (2020), and Upside Down in “The Box Street Style Lab 3.0” by Hong Kong Street Dance Alliance (2022). She joined CCDC in 2022 as a dance artist trainee.

Ella is an individual with 8 years of dance experience. She began her involvement in contemporary dance performances during her primary school years, accumulating six years of performance experience. Currently, she is a member of the Hong Kong University Dance Society (2022-2023). She specializes in Waacking, a style of street dance, and has participated in various events such as the 2017 promotional campaign for Japanese fashion brand autumn/winter collection and a concert by Hong Kong singer Deep Ng. Additionally, she has participated as a dancer in the opening ceremony of the 2018 Hong Kong Rugby Sevens, the 2022 inter-university dance tour, and as a guest performer at the 2023 2Live Dance Studio. Furthermore, she is a dancer in the 2023 Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation original stage play “24:7:365” and a finalist in the 2023 World of Dance Hong Kong competition.
She also won the championship in the 2023 College high Hong Kong competition organized by Team Skip, representing Hong Kong in the world street dance competition held in Taiwan.
Currently, she actively teaches street dance and jazz dance at various community centers, dance studios, and primary schools.

Graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Modern Dance)

Wei Ming-PAK is an independent choreographer and performing dance artist based in Hong Kong. He graduated in 2008 from the City University of Hong Kong with a Certificate in Fitness, Health and 2013 with a BFA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
During his studies, Pak was awarded the HKSAR Government Reaching Out Scholarship Fund and was also given multiple opportunities to participate in the Guangzhou and Beijing Dance Festival through City Contemporary Dance Company’s scholarships.
He was awarded the European Organization’s full DanceWEB programme scholarship to participate in ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival 2013.Where he worked with USA base artist Trajal Harrell (RITE OF SUMMER) and Montpellier Dance Festival and Pompidou Center in France 2015 (The Ghost of Montpellier Meet the Samurai).
Pak has choreographed and produced works independently since 2009; including: One Minute Jumping Frames Dance Video Competition INNERMOST, ROBOT (Dance Video Works), LOST IN THE CITY (Site-Specific Works) which was invited to be performed at Hong Kong Arts Centre’s . TINT and INTERPRETATIONS 2 (Stage Works) which were selected by City Contemporary Dance Company to be performed at the Beijing and Guangdong Dance Festival. Pak has frequently taken part in cultural exchanges in Taiwan, Israel and France.
